SM Entertainment's "SM Town" embarked on the beginning of their 3rd Live World Tour with their first stop at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, USA. The night started off with introductions by MC’s Leetuek of Super Junior as well as Taeyeon and Tiffany of SNSD. After the MC’s introductions in Korean and English, SHINee came out as first to perform with “Lucifer”. In black and white stripped attire, the boys went on to perform dance and rock remixes of “Amigo” and “Juliette”. During one of the dance breaks, we can see Key hurrying to tie his shoes before his part. Without delay, Super Junior came out next dressed in black suits to perform “Superman” and a military remix of “Don’t Don” with a surprise water show right in front of them on the extended stage.
Following that, DBSK came out to perform their medley for “The Way You Are” and “Mirotic” dressed in the chic purple blazers and black slacks. Super Junior then returns telling fans to “put your hands up” with their “Bonamana” Super Show 4 remix. f(x) finally appeared with “Hot Summer” wearing graphic tees and then moving on to “NU ABO”. Before that, f(x) were first to individually introduce themselves. Apparently the girls were attempting to learn English backstage and Amber said that Sulli proclaimed to have the best pronunciation of “dirty” but ended up just laughing it off when she couldn’t remember how to say it.
To start off SNSD’s performance and the first special stage of the night, leader Taeyeon performed “Devil’s Cry” dressed in a fur jacket over her black and gold sparkly “Run Devil Run” outfit which they transitioned into right after. SNSD then introduced themselves apologizing for the absence of Yuri and Yoona due to drama filming schedules. Sunny also thanked fans for the “Happy Birthday Sunny and Yoona” signs. SNSD then performed the remix to “Genie” and “Kissing You” where it rained confetti. After them, SHINee returned to the stage in white with remixes for “The SHINee World” and “Love Like Oxygen” where they actually entered the water a little when the water show started.
Super Junior and f(x) then had a collaborative stage with “Oops!” the second special stage of the night! SHINee’s Onew and f(x)’s Luna performed a lovely rendition of “Can I Have This Dance” from the High School Musical 3 OST. Sisters Jessica and Krystal of SNSD and f(x), respectively, collaborated once again to perform “California Girls” by Katy Perry. Next, to everyone’s surprise, DBSK’s Changmin and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun came out to sing “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars, while serenading a fan on stage and ending with a hug with the lucky fan sandwiched in the middle. Special stage went on with Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk performing their song “Oppa Oppa”!
Taking a break from special stages, the most anticipated EXO K & M finally came out to perform “History” and “MAMA”, switching off groups in the middle and joining as 12 to perform various parts in the songs. As the new members of SM Town, the members must have been nervous doing little mistakes with even Tao tripping in the middle but he made up for it with his flying “kung fu panda” kick in the middle. After EXO, it was back to special stages with SNSD’s new unit TaeTiSeo performing Twinkle. After TTS was done performing, f(x)’s Amber surprised the fans and performed Far East Movement’s “Like A G6” featuring SHINee’s Key and EXO M’s Kris.
Super Junior then performed hit song “Sorry Sorry” remix and “A-Cha”. After, DBSK performed “Maximum” and “Keep Your Head Down (Why?)”. Finally, BoA appears with “Look Who’s Talking Now” and told everyone to have fun and do what they want because she will too. She then performed her song from KPop Star “One Dream” featuring Key and Kris. Directly after, “I Did It For Love” was performed with Key. Key left the stage and BoA continued to wow the fans with “Hurricane Venus” which had the whole Honda Center singing along. When BoA was done with her stage, SNSD returned and performed “Himnae” and fans yelling fan chants for “Gee”.
Later on that night, Super Junior came back to the stage to perform their fun song that had everyone dancing, “Dancing Out” and soon after SHINee reappeared with a rock remix of “Ring Ding Dong”. f(x) was back on stage soon after and performed “Danger” and then back to SHINee with their newest song “Sherlock”. SNSD performed the English version of “The Boys”. While SNSD was busy putting on a great performance, Super Junior was seen coming out with their SS4 light up blazers and were next to put on an amazing performance of “Mr. Simple”. Following Super Junior, it was the ‘Return of the Kings’ as DBSK performed “Rising Sun”.
Fans knew it was close to the end when MC’s came out dressed in their SM TOWN t-shirts to end the concert. All the performers returned to the stage to perform their song “Hope” where the artists were able to run around, sing together and play with the fans. As the song ended, all the groups were leaving the stage except for several of the Super Junior members who stayed onstage to do their special closing they usually do at their Super Show 4 concerts. They threw their shirts to the fans and Leeteuk was last to leave the incredible stage at the Honda Center. The tour is set to hit Taiwan, Japan and later, Korea! Are you ready for some more SM TOWN?
