MNET Announces Superstar K4 USA Auditions in LA and New York! |

Top audition program “Superstar K” announces US audition call for its fourth season
“SUPERSTAR K” GOES GLOBAL!
On-site Auditions: LA Jun.9th/ NY Jun.10th
Introducing Global UCC Special Preliminaries and KakaoTalk Audition Services
Mnet announced that SuperstarK4 will hold US auditions in LA and New York.
LA auditions will be on June 9th at the Hollywood Musicians Institute Concert Hall, while the NY auditions
will be at the Manhattan Best Buy Theater the following day. Those who pass the first audition will receive a
callback for the second round, and those who pass the second round will enter the next stage in South Korea, also
known as ‘Superweek’. After Superweek, judges will select the ‘TOP 10’ contestants who will perform and
compete on the live show.
(*Tip: Those who don’t want to wait in line can complete the registration form at superstark.mnet.com before
audition day. Participants can also register at the audition.)
US residents and other foreign residents who are unable to participate in the LA and New York audition
can go to the ‘Global UCC Special Preliminary’ auditions, open at Superstar K’s official site, superstark.mnet.com.
Upload your UCC on YouTube and leave the URL at superstark.mnet.com. Foreign UCC applicants who receive the
callback will attend the next round in Korea (Jul.7th~8th). After this round, participants will go onto the ‘Superweek.’
SuperstarK will offer plane tickets and accommodations for participants who will be entering Superweek
and the Global UCC Special Preliminary in Korea. This year, Mnet will also organize a ‘Foreign Staff Team’ to help
foreign participants (in the Top 10) who need support adjusting to a new language and culture. The chief producer
of SuperstarK has stated that he hopes to for the program to become an audition in which different races and ages
can all compete in good spirits and enjoy music together. “We have prepared everything we can for the foreign
participants and hope to meet even more talented talented individuals around the world this year.”
Meanwhile, about 1 million applicants have gathered for SuperstarK4, the number boasting its
commanding position among the many audition programs in Korea.
This year, the program also introduces its brand new KakaoTalk audition service. To audition via
KakaoTalk, first add ‘Mnet Plus’ as your friend, type ‘Apply’ in the chat room, and sing along to the instructions
given.

SuperstarK4 will air its first show on Friday, August 17, 2012.
