It has been earlier reported that hip-hop group GReeeeN will be having their first-ever fan event to commemorate the release of their 4th album "“Uta utai ga uta utai ni kite uta utae toiu ga uta utai ga uta utau dake utai kireba uta utau keredomo uta utai dake uta utaikirenai kara uta utawanu!?” or simply "Uta".
The said album was released last June 27th and at the same time, the group held their first-ever fan event at NHK Shibuya Hall as a way of thanksgiving to their fans. Tickets were sold-out and 3,500 fans showed-up. The four-member group, who have never shown their faces in public, made used of virtual live technology that features imagery and motion tracking. The group were watching the entire event at their hometown in Fukushima via Nico Nico Douga, which reportedly garnered 20 million comments during the live broadcast.
Singer-actress Becky performed live during the fan event. She sang her latest single "Yaruki Switch", which is produced by GReeeeN's HIDE older brother. After Becky's performance, "virtual" GReeeN members made an appearance and performed their hits included in their album like "Orange", "Wai wa Waiwai de Iiwai-Omae Wai?", "WeeeeK", and "OH!!!! MEIWAKU!!!!".
Lastly, before the end of their performance, the members made a live phone call straight from Fukushima much to the delight of their fans. Source: barks.jp | JpopAsia
