From pre-game performances to halftime entertainment, the event highlighted Asian American and Pacific Islander culture while giving fans an entertaining afternoon of basketball and community spirit.
Fans arriving early were welcomed with exclusive AAPI Night giveaway shirts, instantly setting the tone for a celebration centered around representation and culture. With a 4PM tip-off, the arena steadily filled with fans eager to enjoy both the game and the night’s special performances.
The festivities began with a powerful rendition of the national anthem by Filipino recording artist Jules Aurora, whose performance energized the crowd ahead of tip-off. SGV Sapphire Dance Team Sets the Tone
Before the game officially began, the Sapphire Dance Team from the San Gabriel Valley took center stage with an energetic pre-game performance that immediately got the crowd engaged. Their adorable performance showcased precision, confidence, and vibrant choreography that perfectly matched the celebratory atmosphere of the evening.
The group later returned during the second quarter, continuing to keep the energy high as fans cheered throughout the game.
Park Ji Hyun Makes Her Presence Felt
One of the loudest cheers of the afternoon came when Park Ji Hyun entered the game around the 10-minute mark of the second quarter. Fans erupted as she checked in, clearly excited to see her take the floor during such a meaningful night for the community.

Filipino Culture Highlighted Through Tinikling

The traditional Filipino folk dance requires rhythm, timing, agility, and carefully coordinated footwork as performers move between rapidly shifting bamboo sticks.
Often compared to double dutch because of its speed and precision, the performance captivated the audience and served as one of the cultural highlights of the night.
Polynesian Performances Shine During Halftime
The celebration continued into halftime with a special showcase from Tupua Productions. The Polynesian entertainment group delivered an engaging performance featuring traditional hula dancing and island-inspired choreography that brought even more cultural representation to center court.
