[RECAP] WEi Give LA RUi A Memorable Night

WEi, a 6-member boy group from South Korea made their first stop on the FIRST LOVE tour in Los Angeles, California on September 16th.

KPOPME Entertainment brought WEi to North America after the group has completed their Japan and Thailand stops. They’ll be having a total of eight stops around the United States and Canada with LA being the start.

WEi held their concert in LA at the historic El Rey Theatre. The venue was built in 1936 and was used as a dance club before officially turning into a live music venue in 1994. Since then, many have performed at the location including K-POP acts, Kevin Woo (formerly a U-KISS member), AB6IX, and more.

From sexy outfits, amazing visuals, and wonderful talent, the WEi boys didn’t disappoint their LA RUi’s! On a beautiful Friday evening in LA, fans lined up outside the El Rey Theatre to see their favorite boy group. The idols are well-known from various survival shows and project groups but since October 2020, they are officially WEi – a 6 member boy group from OUI Entertainment.

It was finally time for WEi to hit the stage and they didn’t disappoint. They wore sexy and revealing outfits that had the fans screaming at the sight of them. While some wore crop-tops, others were backless and none of the members wore shirts under their black blazers.

Their Outfits & VCR

Throughout the show, they had a total of three outfit changes. WEi started with the sexy black outfits, but their second outfit was white and black and very prince-like. Lastly, they came out with their black tour shirts that fit them well.

At the beginning and in-between their outfit changes, they had showed fans some VCRs that they have recorded. One video showed how they prepared and got ready for their performances while another video had the WEi boys answering some questions about how they feel.

Performances

WEi performed many of their hit tracks including “Too Bad,” and “Twilight”. Alongside those tracks, the members also performed, “Super Bumpy,” “All or Nothing,” “Bad Night,” “Blossom,” and much more. Their heavy breathing could be heard throughout the system but it didn’t take away from the amazing performances they had prepared for their RUi.

The boy group ended their concert with, “Bye Bye Bye” but of course, they had to come back out for their encore stages. The encore stages were a gift for fans! They performed a cover and ended with “RUi”.

Covers

Something North America doesn’t often get are covers at these concerts but WEi didn’t disappoint. In the middle of their concert, they performed their version of “Love Killa” which is a song originally by Monsta X. Meanwhile, during their encore stage, they sang “abcdefu” which is originally by GAYLE. They sang the censored version through, just in case they had underage kids attending.

They mentioned that the song is extremely popular in Korea right now so they wanted to be able to perform it for their fans during their tour.

The WEi members made promises to come back and took a group photo with their fans before saying their final farewells and leaving the stage.
